Upgrade of two fire monitor towers
AW Maritime were commissioned by Port of Melbourne to upgrade two Fire Monitor Towers at Maribyrnong No. 1 (bulk liquid berth). The new design required a high top level to accommodate larger vessels along with safer access for staff via a spiral staircase. With significant structural and geometric challenges, AW Maritime were able to provide a design that met all the functional requirements. Fitzgerald Constructions Australia were the Contractors who delivered the new towers, using their floating construction plant and in-house steel fabrication.
