Work on the Geelong Waterfront Safe Harbour project has been continuing during the health crisis, with the harbour on track to open by October. The project features a wave attenuator, a 240m on-water walkway which is one of the largest of this kind in Australia. The wave attenuator provides important safe harbour capacity to berth large vessels such as tall ships and will help to attract valuable new events to the Geelong Waterfront Safe Harbour Precinct.
AW Maritime has been engaged to project manage the $15million Geelong Waterfront Safe Harbour project which involves the redevelopment of the Geelong Yacht Club and Victorian Sailing School into world class facilities, and the expansion of the existing marina including new wave protection structures.
