Detailed design and construction phase services for new pier
AW Maritime was engaged by JCB Architects to complete the concept design, detailed design, tender documentation, and construction phase services for the redevelopment of Altona Pier.
The project will replace the much-loved Altona Pier which has reached the end of its design life with a new pier that captures the heritage feel and aesthetic of the existing pier, whilst also improving public amenity.
As part of the lead design team, AW Maritime worked closely with JCB Architects and Site Office to develop a steel-pile-supported modular design solution with a high-quality timber deck finish. The modular design allows for rapid installation on site and minimises safety risks associated with working over water.
AW Maritime has also been engaged to support the construction phase of the project provide technical assistance through to completion.
