Level 3 Inspection of the Seawall at Torquay Surf Beach
AW Maritime were engaged to inspect the seawall between the Torquay Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) and the Third Wave Kiosk at Torquay Surf Beach in Victoria. The seawall underwent a level 3 (detailed) condition inspection due to damage caused by coastal erosion.
This included a detailed condition assessment of the wave deflectors, capping, and bluestone along the entire seawall face. The inspection scope was later expanded to include the SLSC boat ramp. The condition assessment was conducted in accordance with the Wharf Structures Condition Assessment Manual, documented defects requiring immediate remedial work and included a photographic log of the entire structure.
AW Maritime then worked with the client to develop a temporary solution for immediate action to install rock bags. AW Maritime provided construction surveillance during the installation.
